Meet at Coral's House
This is a fun hike into a dark and spooky grotto, with house size boulders, caves, waterfalls, steep walls, and a real sense of mystery. Once in the grotto you can have a blast scrambling around on the boulders of you have a good sense of balance and are careful. Lots of fun!
Grotto: a pool of water entering a small cavern where the stream feeding the pool orginates.
We could possibly take water shoes to go in the grotto. Also, wear shoes with a good grip as we will probably need to climb over boulders!
134 Freeway Hiking Trail
We didn't up going to the Gabrielino Trail and instead went to a trail off of Sleepy Hollow Drive in the hills by the 134 freeway. Around 3 miles.

This is an alternate way of reaching the Arroyo Seco stream that hugs the popular Arroyo Seco/Gabrielino Trail. It takes you behind an upscale hillside neighborhood and an electricity substation, then quickly disappears into nature as it switchbacks downhill to a streamside campground. It is quieter and more exposed than the first stretch of the Arroyo Seco Trail in Altadena. The Gabrielino Trail is one of several in the Angeles National Forest designated as a multiuse national recreation trail. It follows the route of an original 1920s road that ran from Pasadena north up the canyon past wilderness resorts and old rustic cabins.

A short, 3 mile loop in the Hollywood Hills. Centrally located, with easy access from Hollywood and Studio City, this is a slightly easier but MUCH nicer alternative to other popular Hollywood hikes like Runyon Canyon. Fryman Canyon has fire road or trail paths, plenty of spur trails to vista points and benches, and access to the Tree Peoples’ Coldwater Canyon pavilion. While it is an urban trail, it doesn’t seem crowded on the trail. And while it’s dog friendly, it doesn’t have the pile-of-poop problem that Runyon has.
